That this signifies instruction for those who are of the church, is evident from the signification of "the sons of Israel," as being the church (see the places cited in n. 9340); and from the signification of "speaking" and "saying," when by Jehovah, as being instruction (n. 6879, 6881, 6883, 6891, 7186, 7226, 7241, 7267, 7304, 7380, 7517, 8127).
